Small business lending has long been an antiquated process, one with tedious paperwork, manual inputs and very little transparencyor software. In December 2019, Alexis Ohanian, cofounder of Reddit and managing partner at Initialized Capital, sensed an opportunity to disrupt the archaic small business lending game and invested in Betterfin, a Y Combinator-backed fintech that helps small business owners manage financing and credit. Since then, Betterfin has raised over $4 million in funding, acquired 82,000 users and brokered nearly $50 million in loans.

In light of the Paycheck Protection Program, Betterfin has rolled out a new feature to help small businesses secure the government backed loans. But with the money moving quickly, can more transparency help small business owners secure the capital they need to survive?

Tips on Creating Healthy Nutrition Habits at Home – UT News | The University of Texas at Austin

1.Set a schedule.

You should be taking a break and eating every three to four hours based on your hunger cues starting with breakfast. Add an appointment on your calendar or set an alarm on your phone to remind yourself when to take snack and meal breaks.

Grocery shopping is serious business. You need a plan that will get you in and out as quickly as possible with food that lasts until your next trip. The best strategy for this is to make a grocery list. Have some backup food options just in case stores run out of your favorite items. If youre ordering through a curbside pickup service, check your order against your list to make sure you didnt miss anything.

Avoid setting up your home office in a place where your kitchen is in plain sight. Its easy to gaze over your laptop straight into a pantry of snacks, so try your best to avoid the environmental cues tempting you to eat when youre not hungry. Plan to eat when its time to eat and work when its time to work. Separating these two activities will help you enjoy your meals more and prevent you from snacking because of stress or boredom.

Keeping a glass of water at your workstation is a good practice, but drinking water isnt the only way your body stays hydrated. When you eat foods with high water content such as frozen or fresh fruits and vegetables, your body breaks down the water trapped inside the plant fibers. That water is released into your body slowly keeping you hydrated for an extended period.

Caffeine is a diuretic and an appetite suppressant, so it can cause dehydration and mask your natural hunger cues. If you neglect your bodys natural cues and dont eat food while drinking coffee, you may end up with a dramatic drop in energy later in the day. Avoid the afternoon slump with a morning cup of coffee followed by an energizing lunch. Switch to your favorite caffeine-free tea in the afternoon.

With your mental energy being pulled in different directions, its important to nourish your brain for better cognitive function. Your brain prefers glucose to stay energized, so try to incorporate complex carbohydrates into every meal to break down glucose slowly throughout your day. Optimize your brain function by adding omega-3 fatty acids, which are found in fish, nuts and seeds. And dont forget to take a walk outside for at least 10 minutes a day so you can activate vitamin D in your body and support your mental health.

Research shows that home-cooked meals tend to be healthier than other options. Set some time away from work to meet in the kitchen with family members or roommates to cook a meal. If you live alone, cook the same meal with a friend over a video call. By reframing dinner as a shared experience, you can turn a chore into a way to spend time with those you love.

Diet and nutrition in isolation from an Obesity Medicine Specialist – ABC 4

Posted: at 8:45 am

Elizabeth Hanna, Nurse Practitioner and Obesity Medicine Specialist with the Weight Treatment Center at St. Marks Hospital spoke with Glen Mills in the ABC4 Backyard to discuss COVID-19, Isolation, and foods we can focus on eating while we are social distancing.

As many of us are in isolation, we need to make sure that our families are not falling into nutritional pitfalls such as not keeping to a routine, endlessly snacking, treating yourself daily. If youre guilty of sitting in front of the TV to eat and not eating as a family, you should look at this habit and think about changing it. Some studies show that if youre eating in front of the TV, we tend to eat more and often dont remember what theyve eaten.

Elizabeth suggests switching to canned and frozen fruits and vegetables as people are focused on social distancing and limiting trips to the grocery store as these are still healthy options that you can keep in your house and they will last longer.

Elizabeth provided us with a few other tips for social distancing:

Also, remember all of this is temporary. If you feel you need help, St. Marks has a Telehealth option available.

Nutrition: Take care when eating to conceive – Duluth News Tribune

Posted: at 8:45 am

Im not hinting, but this may interest some of you during these long days at home. According to registered dietitian nutritionist Elizabeth Ward, a good body of research now suggests that a womans ability to become pregnant is influenced by what she eats.

In the Nurses Health Study II, for example, researchers found that nearly half the cases of infertility associated with ovulation disorders could be traced to poor diets. And what really affected fertility in a negative way was the combination of poor diet, lack of physical activity and being overweight.

Poor diets are generally those that largely ignore plant-based foods and tip the scales with high fat meats, processed potatoes, and sweetened beverages. While no one fertility diet has been proven, these are some of the foods/nutrients associated with the ability to conceive: plant-based proteins, full fat dairy, omega-3 fats (fish), monounsaturated fats rather than trans fats, multivitamins and supplements that contain iron.

What about soy? In the past, there was some speculation based on animal research that the estrogen-like effects of soy might decrease a womans likelihood of becoming pregnant, says soy nutrition expert Mark Messina, Ph.D. And one human study observed that women who consumed high amounts (more than 40 milligrams a day) of isoflavones (phytoestrogens found in soy) were slightly less likely to become pregnant than women who ate lesser amounts of soy. But there is no evidence from actual clinical studies, says Messina, that soy prevents a woman from becoming pregnant.

Conditions must be just right for a woman to conceive and continue a healthy pregnancy. And she shouldnt wait until she is pregnant to make changes in her diet, says Ward, author of Expect the Best: Your Guide to Healthy Eating Before, During and After Pregnancy. Here are some recommendations:

Focus on folate (food form) or folic acid (supplement form): From the moment of conception through the first month (when most women have no idea they are pregnant), adequate intake of this B-vitamin is essential to prevent serious defects in the brain and spinal cord. If you have even a chance of becoming pregnant, fill your diet with enriched grains, beans, spinach and other greens and/or take a supplement that contains 400 micrograms of folic acid.

Pump up with iron: Anemia due to low stores of this essential mineral can increase a womans risk for babies born too soon and too small. The iron content of foods is now listed on the Nutrition Facts label. Women need 18 milligrams a day prior to pregnancy.

Keep your weight in check. A woman with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or greater has a higher risk for being infertile than a woman of normal weight.

Cut the alcohol. Not just during pregnancy but even before you see the twinkle in his eyes. Heavy drinking during those first weeks of pregnancy can cause irreversible damage to the brain and spinal cord and may even induce miscarriage.

The basics of protein nutrition for improved cattle performance – Canadian Cattlemen

Posted: at 8:45 am

Meeting the protein requirements of your cattle is a cornerstone of a well-balanced nutrition program. Not only is protein one of the most expensive nutrients to supplement, but it is also one of the most important from a performance perspective.

Consider, for example, that protein requirements increase during the latter stages of pregnancy and with the onset of lactation. With growing calves, protein requirements increase with expected performance level. Failure to supply adequate protein not only limits performance but can also compromise the health of the animal. With this column, I want to explore the theory behind protein nutrition of cattle. Next article Ill apply this theory to practical protein supplementation strategies.

First, it is important to realize that an animal does not have a requirement for protein per se. Rather, it requires amino acids, which are the building blocks of the various proteins found in plants and animals. There are 22 amino acids, 10 of which are essential, with the remainder classified as non-essential. The difference is that non-essential amino acids can be synthesized by an animal and thus are not required in the diet, while essential amino acids cannot be synthesized and thus need to be supplied in the diet. This is true of pigs, chickens, cattle and even people. Examples of essential amino acids include lysine, leucine, methionine and cysteine.

While it is true that cattle require the 10 essential amino acids for maintenance and productive functions, they differ from other animals in that they can meet their essential amino acid needs without a defined dietary supply. This ability stems from rumen fermentation of feeds consumed by the animal. Specifically, rumen bacteria ferment or break down the carbohydrate and protein fractions of feedstuffs and use the resulting release of nutrients for their own growth, much of which comprises protein. Rumen-bacterial protein consists of a well-balanced blend of essential and non-essential amino acids. These bacteria eventually pass out of the rumen with undigested feed and are subject to digestion in the small intestine. As such, the essential amino acid content of bacterial protein serves as a source of essential amino acids for the animal.

It is also important to understand that rumen bacteria can synthesize amino acids (both essential and non-essential) from basic building blocks such as dietary sources of carbon, nitrogen and sulfur. In other words, they do not require a dietary source of essential amino acids for their growth. This is an important concept as it means that cattle can be fed relatively poor sources of protein (i.e. straw, poor-quality hay) and the rumen bacteria, through their growth, can convert these poor sources of essential amino acids into high-quality microbial protein. This can in turn be used to meet the animals essential amino acid requirements.

The rumen bacterias ability to synthesize amino acids from scratch is the reason we can supplement cattle with sources of non-protein nitrogen such as urea and still meet their essential amino acid requirements. This symbiotic relationship between the rumen bacteria and the animal provides ruminants with a unique ability to meet essential amino acid needs and has important consequences for cattle feeding.

The rumen microbial population also consists of various species of protozoa and fungi. However, these organisms while a source of high-quality protein are not as important to the animal as the rumen bacterial population.

A second source of amino acids to the animal is that from undigested feed protein, the amount of which varies with feed source. Ultimately, both protein fractions leave the rumen and pass to the small intestine where amino acids are digested and absorbed. Absorbed amino acids are used for both maintenance and productive functions.

While it is true that cattle require amino acids for protein synthesis, it has been difficult to establish amino acid requirements for various classes of cattle. As a result, most nutritionists formulate diets based on the concept of metabolizable protein. This term refers to protein that is available for absorption in the small intestine and consists primarily of microbial and undigested feed protein.

To understand how we get to metabolizable protein, we need to start with the concept of crude protein. Crude protein is simply the nitrogen content of a feedstuff multiplied by a constant. This constant (6.25 per cent) represents the nitrogen content of common protein sources. When analyzing for crude protein, feed test laboratories typically measure the nitrogen content of a feedstuff and multiply the resulting value by 6.25 per cent to get the crude protein content of the sample.

The crude protein content of a feedstuff or ration can be subdivided into rumen degradable (RDP) and undegradable (RUP) fractions. Rumen degradable protein is protein or non-protein nitrogen (i.e. urea) that is degraded in the rumen and serves as a nitrogen source for rumen bacteria. Rumen undegradable protein is that undigested feed protein that bypasses the rumen and is potentially available for absorption in the small intestine.

The microbial protein and the undigested feed protein that leave the rumen form the vast majority of metabolizable protein available to the animal. Next month we will examine how we can use the concept of RDP and RUP to meet metabolizable protein requirements.

Keep nutrition going through to breeding season – Grainews

Posted: at 8:45 am

Maintaining good nutrition in beef cows after calving largely involves continuing with the well-balanced diets that were fed to them as late-gestation cows.

Years of beef research demonstrate that cows that calve out in optimum body condition score of between five and six, compared to thin fresh cows, have a greater chance of an easier calving, of producing large quantities of colostrum with more immune antibodies and producing more milk for their newborn calves. (The nine-point body condition score ranges from one being emaciated and nine being obese).

If optimum body condition is maintained through to breeding season, cows show a quick return to fertile estrus, which leads to high rates of conception with next years calf.

Maintaining optimum body condition in breeding beef cows can be viewed as the specific amount of dietary energy that is surplus from meeting the energy requirements for vital functions and milk production as well as replacement heifer growth. It is stored as layers of body fat in beef cows.

Postpartum beef cows requirement for dietary energy increases 25 to 35 per cent and for crude protein increases 10 to 15 per cent compared to late-gestation beef cows of the same stature. Both of these nutrients are largely utilized for milk production. About 75 per cent of the milk produced by fresh cows and consumed by their calves is produced in the first 60 days after calving. Therefore, most nursing cows require about 60 62 per cent TDN (total digestible nutrients) and about 11-12 per cent crude protein in their diet by the time they are milking at their highest levels. Growing first-calf heifers need a similar amount of these nutrients too.

In addition to extra energy and protein, beef cows after calving require a more fortified mineral and vitamin feeding program. For example, bovine research shows that an average cow producing 10 to 15 lbs. of milk per day requires about two times more calcium compared to a non-milking, late-gestating beef cow. They also proved that phosphorus deficiencies reduce milk production as well as reduce utilization of dietary energy to maintain optimum body condition. There is also work that shows deficiencies in both minerals delays post-calving estrus as well as puberty in unbred first-calf heifers.

Trace minerals are also documented to play significant roles in beef cows milk production but their heavy focus tends to be preparing beef cows for the upcoming breeding season. For example, copper, zinc, manganese and selenium (and vitamin E) are part of important enzyme systems that are linked to good reproductive activity.

As a beef nutritionist, I have formulated many post-calving cow diets to meet each of these required major nutrients. Here is an outline of each important nutrient group as it relates to my dietary advice:

By following good dietary parameters, it really showed me the right direction to put together well-balanced post-calving cow diets. It also taught me the value of meeting the much higher dietary requirements, as beef cows change from gestating into lactating fertile cows.

Dietitian offers nutrition tips for the family during COVID-19 stay-at-home – theday.com

Posted: at 8:45 am

Jennifer Lowrie is a dietitian. She is also the mom of four school-age kids, so she knows the challenge of feeding a family with everyones schedules disrupted by stay-at-home orders.

Her advice: Plan ahead, but also cut yourself some slack as parents.

Keep it simple, said Lowrie, a registered dietitian/nutritionist with Atrium Health.

There is no reason to get all detailed with every nutrient and every vitamin, she said. Give yourself some time and some patience to figure it all out. Were all dealing with something brand new and our schedules are all different.

Social-distancing in response to the new coronavirus pandemic means shopping for groceries less often and more efficiently. That requires some forethought and flexibility. It means maybe putting weight-loss on hold for now.

It could also be an opportunity to teach your kids skills that make them more self-sufficient.

Here are Lowries tips for making the best of stay-at-home orders from a meal-planning view:

We want to get in and out of grocery stores quickly and we want to do it less frequently, Lowrie described.

Have a list. Plan ahead. Ideally, (buy) two weeks worth of groceries, but just one week would be a great start. Plan out what meals youre going to make and what ingredients youre going to need.

Once you have that list, make it even more strategic in regards to the grocery store you go to: Is the dairy in the back? Is the produce up-front? You can organize your list accordingly so youre not going back-and-forth. You dont want to get to the bottom of the list and say, Oh, I forgot milk! and have to go all the way back there.

Its less exposure (to the virus) if youre more organized.

The grocery wont always have what youre going for, Lowrie said of people stocking up more in advance. But maybe they have a different brand. So people can try using a different spaghetti sauce than they are used to, for instance.

Make sure what you are buying is going to work for at least a week. Canned fruits and vegetables work great, Lowrie said, as does frozen food. To use all fresh produce, you really need to go to the store every three days to replenish, and thats just not a good idea right now.

Get your (fresh) produce when you do go (shopping), she said, but have your canned and frozen food as great backups. Youre not going to have to eat canned green beans forever.

Nutrition is very important, of course. Its not going to fix everything and its not going to prevent disease, but its a component that people have some control over, Lowrie said.

You can enjoy everything in moderation. You dont have to avoid the chips or avoid the cookies altogether.

You want your fruits. You want your vegetables. You want your whole grains. Nuts. Beans. Lean proteins. Grill your chicken, as opposed to frying your chicken, she said. And be sure to make extra, so when you do cook, so you have leftovers for salads or entrees.

Its a great time to get them to learn how to cook. Teenagers especially. Theyre too busy and usually not even in the house enough to figure out how to do some of this, Lowrie said. I did that the other day with one of my teenagers. He said he wanted tacos for dinner. I said, OK, get out the pan. Let me show you what to do.

Normally, wed be so rushed that there is no way I would have had time to get him involved, she said. Now there is time to do it. There is measuring, there is math, there is science involved. You can have fun with it.

There is no evidence to believe there is concern with it, as far as the virus being spread that way, Lowrie said. If you have the option for contactless delivery, I would definitely take advantage of that.

If you get the takeout container, while there is no reason to believe that we could get it this way, but Id take food from the container and put it on my own plate and then I would wash my hands, she said. Thats just being overly cautious, but its an easy thing to do.

I would get away from any kind of restricted diet. We have enough stress right now to add the stress of what I can eat and what I cant eat (based on how) many grams of this and so many grams of that, Lowrie said.

In order to have a fully-functioning immune system, we need to be well nourished, so this is probably not the best time to have a restricted diet.

One thing we dont often think enough with nutrition is drinking enough water. Right now, with how the virus is affecting us, I think its really important to be hydrated, Lowrie said.

You dont have to count the number of ounces a day, but you need to stay hydrated. Id like to see you using the bathroom a good five or six times a day. Thats a good way for you to judge how your own body (processes water since) were all different heights and weights.

Heura CEO on the future of plant-based R&D: Clean label, nutrition and price – FoodNavigator.com

Posted: at 8:45 am

Foods for Tomorrow turned three last week. Celebrating the anniversary, the Spanish start-ups founder and CEO Marc Coloma can look back on a period of rapid R&D rollout and significant growth.

The company, which started with a plant-based chicken product, now offers a range of plant-based beef alternatives and ready meals like pizza.

Since the first year we have been growing exponentially by four and this is what we want to continue doing in the upcoming years. We closed 2019 with a 2.5m turnover, Coloma told FoodNavigator.

As corporate activists, Coloma reflected that Foods for Tomorrows purpose is reflected in its plant-based products which are a solution to our global mission. The business philosophy of the plant-based innovator is informed by our background in the fourth sector, which combines the market-based approaches of the private sector with the social and environmental aims of the public and non-profit sectors.

Our drive to create Heura plant-based meat was to make the current food system obsolete. Therefore we make alliances with mission aligned partners to accelerate the shift to a world where animals are out of the meat production equation, the food entrepreneur suggested.

What is Foods for Tomorrows recipe for success? Alongside its mission, the company has been able to differentiate its products in the crowded plant-based market. There are two main things that make our products unique: our nutritional [profile] and our Mediterranean culinary heritage, Coloma elaborated.

Heuras innovation efforts have concentrated on developing clean label recipes that are more nutritious than other plant-based products on the market.

Our in-house R&D team is focused to get a shorter and shorter ingredients list, better nutritional profiles and meatier experience.

Heura chicken is 100% clean label, we only use water, soy, olive oil, salt, natural flavour, spices and B12 vitamin. Our R&D team is constantly working with that mindset and this is why all Heura products are categorized as excellent by the nutritional app, Yuka.

Heura meatballs and burger have already half of the ingredients when comparing them with the main competitors. Our burger has 10% less calories than market average and 26% less fat.

Coloma believes that these attributes will become increasingly important as the nutritional credentials of meat analogues come under scrutiny, with critics already suggesting that the health benefits of upping your intake of plant-based foods are dampened because these products are ultra-processed.

At the moment, the most important attribute in the landscape is the meat experience [in terms of] the look, texture, smell and flavour. People cant recognize that our chicken is plant based.

The main factors differentiating the plant-based meat products soon will be fat levels, clean labels and price, he predicted.

Speaking from Spain, one of the countries that has been worst hit by the coronavirus pandemic, Coloma said that the crisis has increased the importance of healthy diets. It will bring more consciousness of the consequences of the way we eat. Society will hopefully shift to a diet more aligned to their values, he noted.

Globally, it will certainly be an inflection point for everyone to think about how the way we eat affects to our lives. We hope society will start being more conscious of the consequences of eating animals for our health and the health of our planet.

The disruption caused by COVID-19 has had an impact on Foods for Tomorrows foodservice business, prompting it to modify its expansion plans. However, the start-up was somewhat buffered from the impact because over the past three years it has diversified its distribution channels, both nationally and internationally. This has allowed us to keep delivering Heura products around the world by retailers and restaurants which offer delivery.

As the Heura brand continues to grow, the company will focus its strategy on product development, expanded distribution, price and community building.

When it comes to product development, Coloma said the company wants to get the widest and greatest product range to market, with a focus on assuring the cleanest labels and the meatiest experience.

Increased distribution is important because being more accessible internationally will give people the freedom to choose meat-free products that are clean label and nutritious, he continued. And in this vein, price is also important. We want to democratise plant-based meat options because we know every dish with Heura is a little revolution.

Part of this revolution is a game changing approach to engagement and community, the chief executive continues. Apart from great products we want to inspire and drive change in society, placing the debate about the need of a protein transition in the centre.

In this ever changing world where everything actually seems to stay the same, its hard to know how one is going to feel one day to the next.

In the first few days of lockdown we scrambled into groups, desperately figured out what Zoom was, phoned our friends and checked in with family.

By week five, things were calmer and we were left pondering such inanities as how do we get through so much cheese? and how does the house get so dirty when we dont leave it?

Washing our hands should have been normal before, and it certainly is now, but as the phrase new normal takes its irritating hold, we are left with a new knowledge about the frailty of our own bodies.

As a Nutritional Therapist and Naturopath, I know that our physiology hasnt changed one iota, but how we regard it truly has. And for the better.

Im sure there were many, when the lockdown came, who roared with laughter at the thought of daily exercise and then realised that in fact, this was their best chance of a happier healthier life.

Not being able to swim, Ive started jogging with the dog. I didnt really like it much for the first couple of weeks, but Im now thoroughly addicted to that hit of early morning fresh air. Early on I started a Facebook group called Home Nutrition Daily for the purpose of store cupboard recipe exchanging and general info. 349 people joined it overnight and there have been some great exchanges for everything from yeast free flatbreads to the endless possibilities for Wild Garlic.

As the weeks have gone by, the chef-ier among us have been drip feeding easy to assemble family dishes from soups and stews to curries and sauces, not to mention ideas for random items fished out from the dark recesses of our cupboards.

Lunch still seems to still be an issue everywhere. But thats why God invented soup.

The complexity of the bodys immune system is something of a mystery to many, but one thing we are starting to understand is that a diet rich in fresh fruit and veg, whole grains, brown carbs and freshly prepared meat and fish is definitely better for us than late night take-aways, emergency pizzas and sandwiches scoffed on the hoof.

Obviously the main function of the human immune system is to protect the host against infection, but it also clears damaged tissues and provides constant surveillance of potentially malignant cells in the body. The Innate Immune System is the natural barrier system we are born with and the Adaptive Immune System is the one with the antibodies that develops over time. If you are someone who suffers from frequent minor infections, digestive complaints, autoimmune conditions or nagging fatigue, its a good idea to use this lockdown time to really get to grips with understanding your health and how your body fights infection.

Research shows that psychological stress can also be very damaging to the immune system long term and that physical activity enhances immune performance. As regards nutrition, Im afraid sugar, starch and most processed foods are out and guess what, fresh fruit and veg are in.

So while we now have time to turn out long forgotten cupboards and attics full of junk, get to know our partners and children again, sort out our gardens if we are lucky enough to have them, please let this also be the time when we understand our bodies better and stop filling them full of debilitating junk.

Im offering a free 30 minute coaching session to anyone who would like to explore their personal health further - weekdays between 10.30am and 1pm.

Book direct via Facebook aat Antonia Maguire Nutrition and Reflexology or via my website antoniamaguire.com.

And share any great recipes at Home Nutrition Daily.

Recipe: Onion and Garlic Soup - serves 3-4

Meanwhile, heres a delicious, immune supporting recipe, which is just about as healthy and simple as it gets:

3 medium onions, finely sliced

4 cloves of garlic, crushed

1.5 litres veg, beef or chicken stock

1 tbsp olive oil

1 large knob of butter

1/2 tsp flour

salt & pepper

dash of balsamic vinegar

Slice your onions and then temper very slowly in the butter and olive oil. After 5 minutes, add the crushed garlic and stir. DO NOT to let the onions catch, you want a nice sweet caramelisation. Definitely do not burn the garlic. After a while add a little flour and mix in. Warm the stock in a pan and then gently add to the onion mixture as is you were making a sauce. Keep adding and then bring to a gentle boil, seasoning as you wish. Serve with cheese on toasts floating in the broth, a splash of balsamic vinegar, a sprinkle of iron rich parsley and a green salad.

This is a worry for me, as Im usually very health conscious, she says.

Chiropractor Tanya Averill is worried about her new, inactive lifestyle. Shes now trying to get outside every day for a run.

The kitchen activities of mixing, kneading, proofing, shaping and finally baking have a way of helping to reduce stress. Says Aviv Fried, BSc (Eng)08, the owner of Sidewalk Citizen Bakery: "I think people gravitate to bread baking for the inherent challenge and for the satisfaction of making something from start to finish. Producing something with your two hands and then starting all over again theres something very satisfying about it. Always has been.

When facing a global pandemic, whats a few extra pounds?Only you can answer that question. But for those who want to make healthier choices, here are Dr. Reimer-De Bruyns tips on eating well during this time of social isolation:

COVID-19: VICTAM and Animal Health and Nutrition Asia event pushed back to early 2022 – FeedNavigator.com

Posted: at 8:45 am

We have been monitoring the situation of COVID-19 on a daily basis hoping the situation would be stabilized. However, since our last postponement, COVID-19 is still disrupting the business around the world.

So they concluded that exhibiting at a trade show was not their clients priority right now.

Postponing the event entirely to January 2022 would give all stakeholders room to breathe and pay attention to other vital issues. We believe it is the right decision to hold on and come back even stronger together in 2022.

The event will take place at the same venue, the BITEC in Bangkok.

Earlier this year, the two organizations moved to postpone the trade show to the second quarter of 2020 due to the pandemic, but they decided they could not take the risk of organizing an event in July, given that the threat from COVID-19 still remains high worldwide.

The organizations said they believe, by early 2020, business will have got back to normal.

Another reason to choose January 2022, instead of the second half of this year, is the full event calendar, which could create a conflict of dates for our visitors and exhibitors, added the partners.

The VICTAM Corporation and VIV worldwide will also organize VICTAM International and VIV Europe together at the Jaarbeurs exhibition grounds in Utrecht, the Netherlands, May 31 June 2, 2022.

The set-up of this exhibition is different from the Asia event, as VIV Europe and VICTAM International will be co-located but with each exhibition in its own halls, they said.

Earlier this month, FEFAC announced that its congress, originally scheduled for June, had been deferred until the autumn this year.

As COVID-19 is quickly spreading around the world, our number one concern is the health and safety of delegates, speakers, exhibitors and staff. Therefore, after careful consideration, the organising committee has decided to postpone the XXIX FEFAC Congress to September 24-25, 2020,said the EU feed industry trade representatives.

There is no change to the venue it remains the FMCCAor the Elisabeth Centre, in Antwerp.
