Fine lines, pigmentation, discoloration of skin, uneven texture and wrinkles after an age are quite common in all of us, but that doesnt mean you cant prevent them from making your skin look dull and aged. The rising pollution levels, stress, increased blue light consumption, poor nutrition and lack of self-care have also aggravated premature ageing a common phenomenon nowadays. According to the cosmetologists, premature ageing in youth is a big concern and they have come across many 25-year-old patients who have developed skin texture and wrinkles like an 80-year-old because of these above-mentioned factors. However, beauty markets across the globe are filled with Hyaluronic acids to fillers that make you look ageless and flawless. All these ageing issues can be avoided by incorporating a regular skincare routine that includes sunscreen as the most crucial part of the anti-aging routine and experts suggest that people should start their skin care regimen in their 20s. They can have certain lasers and medically designed face treatments, which have no downtime, to pump in nutrition to prevent premature ageing. We caught up with Dr. Geeta Grewal, Cosmetic Surgeon and Wellness Expert, 9Muses Wellness Clinic, Gurugram to help us understand how can one prevent ageing at the first place.

In your 20sYour anti-ageing skincare routine should focus more on prevention rather than worrying about it which you will get in the near future. The major concern in this age-group is acne, pigmentation, blackheads, oiliness & dull skin that often result due to the hormonal changes in the body. Its essential that you follow a healthy lifestyle and take a nutritious diet full of green-leafy vegetables. Its mandatory to remove your make-up before going to bed and apply a moisturizer. If you dont clean and moisturize your skin, your pores will be clogged and pigmentation and black head problems will increase. This will further result in poor skin conditions.
